Does the tea from low altitude area taste bad ? 低海拔的茶就不好喝嗎 ?

In general, tea tree is very adaptable, so it could be cultivated in a very wild range of altitude. You could tea from sea level to very high altitude level (>2000). In general thinking, high mountain tea is the best[1][2]. Do you really think so? I am thinking that it’s undoubted tea at high altitude is grown slowly and that makes tea more complex flavours. So Tea from high altitude level could be steeped several times and get more nutrition. And because of the region and growing environment, tea from high altitude level will be more expensive and quantity will be less than ones from low altitude.

But here are some questions should be thought deeply.
1. For the harsh growing environment, the original tea is less. How could you find so many high mountain tea from market?
– Most of them are blended box (with low altitude / or some unscrupulous vendors will blend them with Tea from Vietnam),
and still sell you the same price or higher.
2. Tea from high altitude more health ?
– Health or not will depend on how you cultivate the tea, like, organic planting, etc. Nutrition in high mountain tea will
a little more than low-altitude ones. But this’s not absolute. Well-cultivated tea from low altitude will be as good as
ones from high altitude[4].
3. Tea from high altitude more flavours ?
– Indeed, because of growing environment, tea from high altitude will be more complex flavours. But tea-making process[5]
and other recipes would also be key factors to effect the flavours.

In taiwan, there are so many tea from low altitude which are also as good as high-altitude ones. High mountain tea is really
getting charming. But this should not only one consideration. Should consider more, don’t miss the good one from low altitude.

一般來說, 茶樹的適應性很強, 所以生長的海拔範圍相當的廣, 從海平面到所謂的高山茶, 都可以見到茶樹. 一般認為, 高山茶才是最好的[1][2]. 小編認為, 不可否認高山茶因為生長特性的關係以及環境因素[3], 所以茶葉本身比較耐泡, 含有的養分以及韻味確實會比一般低海拔的茶來的好, 但也因為生長環境的關係, 一般要在市面上面看到真正的高山茶會比較少, 而且價格比較高.

但有幾個問題值得大家思考,
1. 生長環境比較嚴酷, 所以產量比較少, 那市面上的這麼多高山茶哪來的 ?
– 多半是透過混茶 (低海拔的茶葉, 或者不肖廠商混越南茶), 所以包裝上雖然是註明高山茶, 但未必真的是高海拔產地的茶
2. 高山茶比較健康 ?
– 健康與否跟栽種的過程有關, 譬如是有機栽種或是實行慣行農法, 等等, 影響茶葉本身的農藥的含量. 高山茶或者平地茶本身營養素含量的確有差,
但好的平地茶本身受到良好的照顧, 滋味上也不會輸給高山茶[4]
3. 高山茶比較好喝 ?
– 從生長環境來看, 高山茶因為生長比較緩慢, 所以喝起的韻味跟口感確實會比較好, 但喉韻除了生長環境之外, 製茶過程本身也同樣會是影響的關鍵之一
另外[5], 除了生長環境, 氣候, 雨量等等, 都會影響到, 所以低海拔茶口感一定不如高海拔茶嗎 ? 真的不一定喔.

台灣因為地理環境以及氣候等因素, 除了高山茶之外, 還有很多低海拔的茶也非常的好喝. 沒錯, 高山茶確實有它獨特的魅力,
但不該因為一味的追捧高山茶, 反而打壓低海拔茶, 各有各的特色. 日本的有名的茶區[6] 所處海拔絕對不是所定義的高海拔茶區,
但生產的綠茶非常的聞名, 斯里蘭卡的低海拔區[7]所產的紅茶也相當的有特色, 非常好喝.

所以, 只看海拔, 會白白錯失非常多好喝的中低海拔的茶喔. 台灣中低海拔的農友所生產的好茶, 也非常值得品嚐, 千萬不要錯過了!
