How to store tea leaves? 如何正確保存茶葉?

In general tea-making process, the final stage of tea-making is to dry the tea leaves which makes the extreme low water-containing in tea leaves. The purpose of drying tea leaves is for storing. That will make tea more easily store in home. In US/Europe, it’s continental climate, so the weather is cooler and drier. So tea could be put into a box to save. But that could not happen in subtropical monsoon climate area, like Taiwan.

Here we will talk about how to store tea leaves in home no matter what kind of weather.
Before that, we need to know some features of tea leaves.
– Don’t put tea leaves in a area where a light shines on directly.
– Don’t put tea leaves in a humid environment, cause it will absorb steam and bad smell in the air.
– Put tea leaves in a cooler space. Cause tea will deteriorate because of heat.
– Don’t put tea in the air, cause tea will keep fermenting.

So, how we store tea leaves ?

1. Put tea in a black box, make sure it will not be shined by lights.
2. Don’t drop the package of tea, it will help to save tea leaves after squeezing the air out.
3. Put tea in a cooler space.
4. Could put brand-new tea package in a fridge. But don’t open immediately when get it out. Should wait for coming back to room-temperature.

Is tea like 3C products ? How about trying putting tea into a damp-proof box. That will help (LOL)

一般的製茶流程可以簡單分為 採茶 → 萎凋 → 發酵 → 乾燥 其中最後一個乾燥的步驟是為了讓茶葉在最後階段以極低含水量的製成,其目的是為了可以長時間保存與穩定品質,所以乾燥後的茶葉極易受潮與吸附空氣中的異味。歐美國家在大陸型氣候的乾冷空氣中,茶葉可以直接置於一般的茶葉鐵罐中,還不致快速受潮,不過來到海島型氣候的國家, 如台灣,將沒有外包裝的茶葉直接放置在密閉性不佳的馬口鐵罐中保存,過幾天茶葉就會因為空氣中的水氣而受潮失去喉韻,同時亦會吸附受潮的鐵罐味道,雖然對一些人來說,剛受潮幾日還是比較不會喝處怪怪的味道,但時間久了,茶葉的風味會因此大減。所以在茶葉開封之後,需要好好的保存或者盡快飲用完畢,避免味道受損。我們今天就來聊聊如在家裡如何保存散茶。

由於經發酵製程,加上高度乾燥,所以茶葉對環境相當的敏感也因此需要特別注意幾點來避免變質 :
– 盡量不要將茶葉放置在光源直接照射處,這會加速茶葉的變質。
– 盡量保持保存環境乾燥,乾燥後的茶葉非常容易吸附水分,以及空氣中的異味。
– 將茶葉置放於陰涼處,因為高溫會使茶葉變質。
– 盡量減少茶葉與空氣大面積接觸,暴露在空氣中會讓茶葉持續發酵。

那我們在家中該如何保存茶葉呢 ?

1. 茶葉盡量放置在不透光的密封容器保存,以確保光線不會直接照射。
2. 當茶葉拆封後,不要丟棄包中的鋁箔袋,收起茶葉盡量將空氣擠壓出並壓緊。
3. 保存茶葉放置在陰涼處即可。
4. 未拆封的茶葉,可置於冰箱冷藏或冷凍,不過不能立即拆封,須等到茶葉溫度回到室溫在拆封,不然很容易受潮。

不過看完以上的保存方式,小編覺得跟保存3C產品差不多,所以後來小編都把茶葉放進防潮箱中了 (笑!)
