茶葉能防蛀牙?

喝茶可以保護牙齒?

喝茶能夠預防蛀牙主要是因為茶葉中所含的氟離子茶多酚物質。口腔中有許多微生物與細菌,其中變形鏈球菌與乳酸桿菌最容易導致蛀牙,而茶葉中的氟離子兒茶素類黃酮化合物具有良好的對抗細菌能力,能夠有效抑制這種容易造成蛀牙的細菌生長,防止細菌附著到牙齒上,減少酸性物質分泌,以達到預防蛀牙的效果。根據研究顯示,每日飲用大約3-4杯茶即可以預防蛀牙,其中紅茶綠茶烏龍茶均含有氟離子,促進牙齒的健康。同時,氟離子可以強化牙齒琺瑯質的抗酸與再鈣化能力,幫助牙齒進行修復,而茶多酚物質還能達到去除口臭的效果[1-3]。

不過要特別注意的是,茶葉浸泡太濃或太久有可能會造成氟離子增加,而氟離子過多反而會造成牙齒脫落,對牙齒有害,因此應該避免泡太久或太濃的茶,而且前提是無糖的茶葉才有效果,若喝含有糖分的茶,反而會因為其中的糖分而可能使蛀牙加劇。

只要避免泡過濃或過久的茶,喝茶確實有可以顯著預防蛀牙與口臭的效果,對口腔的健康與清潔有很大的幫助,當然同時也要時常保持刷牙的好習慣,才能真正保有一口健康又美麗整齊的牙齒哦!

The protection of tea for tooth

Tea can prevent caries due to fluoride and polyphenols in tea. There are usually many microbes and bacteria in the mouth. In particular, streptococcus mutans and lactobacillus are most likely to result in caries. However, fluoride, catechin and flavonoids in tea have the high resistance to bacteria, which can inhibit the growth of bacteria and the secretion of acidic substance, and thus reduce the decayed tooth. Research shows that drinking at least three cups of tea every day helps prevent caries and benefits tooth health a lot, including black tea, green tea and oolong tea. In addition, fluoride can strengthen tooth resistance of acid and the recalcification capabilities of enamel, which would help tooth to heal by itself. Polyphenols even can improve the bad breath[1-3].

However, thick tea or tea brewed too long could contain excess fluoride, which may harm the tooth, and lead to tooth loss. Therefore, thick tea or tea brewed too long should be avoided. Furthermore, sugarless tea has the greatest effect to prevent decayed tooth. By drinking sweet tea, sugar in tea may worsen caries.

Except for thick tea or tea brewed too long, drinking tea helps prevent caries and the bad breath significantly, improving health and clearness of the mouth. It is recommended that the way to keep healthy tooth is to brushing the teeth with drinking tea regularly.
